Origin: Buddhism was founded in approximately 566 BC when an Indian prince named Siddartha Guatama later known as The Buddha, was born. He went around teaching people of his ways for 45 years. He began his spiritual quest at the age of 29, which lead 6 years later to his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree or the tree of wisdom at Bodh Gaya in Northern Indian. The Buddha means "the enlightened one". He lived to the age of about 80 and when he died he had about 500 disciples. Classification: Is neither monotheistic nor polytheistic, does not depend on the existence of a God who created the universe. Universal religion. Branches/Divisions: Nikaya, Mahayana, and Vajrayana

Origin: Christianity has its basis in Judaism. The first part of the Bible, the Old Testament, is the Torah from Judaism. The second part of the Bible, the New Testament, is written by the disciples of Jesus about God, Jesus, and his teachings. According to Christianity, Jesus is the Messiah and is the son of God who was sent to Earth to die on the cross for our sins. Classification: monotheistic; universalizing Branches/Divisions: Denomination (from the Amish to The Way), meta-group (Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Protestantism...), wing (conservative, mainline and liberal), religious family ( Adventist, Baptist, Lutheran, Reform...), systems of belief (Arminianism, British Israelism, Calvinism)

Place- a specific point of Earth distinguished by a particular character. Region- an area of Earth distinguished by a distinctive combination of cultural and physical features. Scale- the relationship between a map?s distances and the actual distances on Earth. Space- the physical gap between two objects. Connections- relationships among people and objects across a barrier of space. Cartography- the science of map-making. -Earliest surviving maps are from Babylonian clay tablets, (c. 2300 B.C.) -Aristotle was first to demonstrate that Earth is spherical.
