It originated new kinds of social structure, religion, and politics, and set a foundation for future societies. This essay explores the aspects of Egypt which made it one of the greatest civilizations in history. Political System In ancient Egypt, the king was the head of society and religion. The king had many responsibilities in making sure his country ran smoothly?he (or she) was the chief priest for all gods, the champion of wars, and head of administration. Below the king, each of these areas was headed by a trusted ally.

The Epic of Gilgamesh ?Return? page 28 #1-5 Did the gods and goddesses in Gilgamesh behave in ways you expected? Explain. In my opinion, the gods and goddesses did not behave in ways that I expected because I view gods as holy omnipresent all knowing mercy form of spirit, however in the epic of Gilgamesh, the gods are portrayed as ruthless selfish forms that is lazy. How does Gilgamesh come to hear the story of the flood? Relative to the other events in Gilgamesh, when did the flood happen? Why is Utnaphistim able to tell about it?
