Lesson Plan: Images of George Washington J. Nici Objective: The purpose of this lesson is to extend the range of student understanding of works of art beyond the canon. All too often, teachers focus only on those works likely to appear on the AP exam, and ignore other works, fearing that if students are not always focused on the exam, they will lose ground. It is the contention of the author that a breadth of experience sometimes will yield a greater appreciation and understanding of particular aspects of art history. Skills attained: Students will learn that there are various approaches to creating, interpreting and analyzing an image. Students will consider works classified as great works of art, as well as more mundane images that are common in everyday life. Topics:

Shyteriah Taylor 10/29/07 6th My opinion on jack?s ways is that he is a very cruel man. The way that he treats his wife is unfair; no one should get treated like that at all. The way that he treats his children is like he doesn?t even care about any of his family. The habit that he has of drinking is not good. Maybe something bad could happen to his body that he doesn?t know about and something horrible could go wrong.
