Arrangement AP Lang & Comp Mrs. Brubaker Name __________________________________ Another element of rhetoric is the organization of a piece, what classical rhetoricians called ?arrangement.? Whether you?re analyzing a text or writing your own, consider how the essay and its individual paragraphs or sections are arranged. Is the text organized in the best possible way in order to achieve its purpose? An essay always has a beginning, middle and end: an introduction, developmental paragraphs of the body, and conclusion. But HOW a writer structures the argument within that framework depends upon his intended purpose and effect. In the following sections, we?ll look at a formal classical model of arrangement; then we?ll examine rhetorical patterns of development.

#1 what is the main point of Orwell?s novel? In this story Animal Farm by George Orwell, there are many political, mainly referring to the Russian Revolution. These are very important but I believe that the main reason he wrote this book is to show how Stalin rose to power and how he stayed in power (otherwise known as how napoleon rose to power and how he stayed in power.) Stalin plays and important part in the Russian Revolution imprisoning 9 million people and killing over 2 million. Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin in this novel by the way he acts and the ways he treats others. Orwell wanted to show this by using animals to show the torcher done by Stalin and his men.

One common thing that the two novels, have is that Orwell intensely satires the social structure of communism, presenting gloomy predictions of it. However, more important than that is that Orwell uses symbolism in both novels. First of all, Big Brother and the telescreens can be symbols and motifs for the party?s

In every work of literature there is a main idea or theme that the writer wants to get across to their readers. In 1984 by George Orwell there are many important themes that Orwell tries to stress. These themes are primarily associated with the future of our government and its power over us, the citizens. This is because the novel takes place in a futuristic world where a totalitarian government is able to control its citizen’s thoughts and watch over them at all times. Two major themes in this book are the systematic dehumanization of humans and the weakness of the individual when confronted by the power of the state.

George Basaly September 30, 2010 Mrs. Rochford Period 7 A Collection of Essays by George Orwell Speaker: The speaker of this book is the author himself, George Orwell. As well as writing novels, he wrote many essays, and decided to publish a select few of them into a single book. He recollects many important events that he has witnessed, and reflects and analyzes them through his pen. Ever since he was a child, his dream was to always be a writer. I know that he is the voice of his essays because in one particular one, ?Such, Such Were the Joys?? he writes, ?I base these generalizations on what I can recall of my own childhood outlook,? because he wrote his essays based on his personal experiences, in this case, he recalls his childhood sweetheart, Elise.
