Gustav Holst (1874-1934) Gustav Holst was an extremely talented and famous composer in England who lived in 1874 through to 1934. His family was originally Swedish, then they moved to Germany, and then on to England. Gustav's father, Adolph married Clara, a pianist student of his, who later died giving birth when Gustav was just 8. Gustav Holst was a touchy and depressed child. His eyes were weak, but no one thought he had to wear glasses. His chest was also weak, but no one cared much about his asthma. He had to rest while doing simple physical activities, such as climbing stairs. In his youth, Gustav hated practicing the violin, but enjoyed the piano, which he had began to practice as soon as he was tall enough.

John Maynard Keynes was a British economist whose ideas have greatly shaped modern macroeconomics, and indeed is credited as the father of all modern macroeconomics. His ideas are the basis for the school of thought known as Keynesian economics. Keynesian Economics states that some microeconomic decisions may lead to macroeconomic inefficiencies. In other words, if a small economy such as Arizona’s real estate market slips, it could cause the large economy it is a part of, the economy of the United States, to wane. Several branches of Keynesian Economics are used today. Adam Smith’s economic theory basically states that as long as people act in their own self interest, the economy will remain stable to its highest efficiency.

George Basaly September 30, 2010 Mrs. Rochford Period 7 A Collection of Essays by George Orwell Speaker: The speaker of this book is the author himself, George Orwell. As well as writing novels, he wrote many essays, and decided to publish a select few of them into a single book. He recollects many important events that he has witnessed, and reflects and analyzes them through his pen. Ever since he was a child, his dream was to always be a writer. I know that he is the voice of his essays because in one particular one, ?Such, Such Were the Joys?? he writes, ?I base these generalizations on what I can recall of my own childhood outlook,? because he wrote his essays based on his personal experiences, in this case, he recalls his childhood sweetheart, Elise.

Ziggy Hall (interviewer): So here we are with George Gordon, Lord Byron. We?re going to be talking about everything from birth to how you want to die. First things first, what would you prefer I call you: George Gordon or Lord Byron? Byron (me): Definitely, Lord Byron. I feel I have earned the title. Ziggy: Alright, that?s totally cool dude. So, let?s talk about your parents, Jack Byron and Catherine Gordon. Me: Well, my mother was a descendent of an old Scottish noble family. I will always appreciate that she spoke her mind and would not tolerate my father?s irresponsibility. His motives weren?t exactly pure when he married my mother. He was only interested in her finances. As soon as
