1. Simile: A simile' is a figure of speech that directly compares two different things, usually by employing the words "like" or "as". 2. Metaphor: a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in ?A mighty fortress is our God.? 3. Repetition: The act or process or an instance of repeating or being repeated. 4.
