A Story from the Farm The poem ?The Black Walnut Tree? was written by Mary Oliver in 1979 and was first published in the poetry collection Twelve Moons. There is not much background as to why this poem was written, perhaps it was just an idea Mary Oliver had. The poem is written in complete free verse on the subject of financial struggle. The poem shows the difficult decisions that face families from time to time. The poem opens in the narrator's point of view where it shall stay throughout the whole poem. It is a very personal story of the farm that was once fruitful, but now has withered away to the point that the family is debating to sell their beloved walnut tree to pay for the mortgage. The piece is written in prose so that the impact may be greater for the reader.

Female Characters in Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth William Shakespeare is generally considered an avant-garde writer with progressive ideas about gender. Because of the era in which he wrote, the women in his plays generally had to be wives, servants, or a woman of some type of ill repute. But an examination of the female characters of three of his major tragedies shows that though these women may have been secondary to the men in their lives, they were still complex, round characters and deserving of as much attention and analysis as their male counterparts.

#1 what is the main point of Orwell?s novel? In this story Animal Farm by George Orwell, there are many political, mainly referring to the Russian Revolution. These are very important but I believe that the main reason he wrote this book is to show how Stalin rose to power and how he stayed in power (otherwise known as how napoleon rose to power and how he stayed in power.) Stalin plays and important part in the Russian Revolution imprisoning 9 million people and killing over 2 million. Napoleon represents Joseph Stalin in this novel by the way he acts and the ways he treats others. Orwell wanted to show this by using animals to show the torcher done by Stalin and his men.

#2 what characteristics of a dictator does Napoleon have? Napoleon has many characteristics off a dictator when he is the ruler of Animal Farm. Napoleon is very self-centered and selfish. He self-aggrandizes the farm animals into thinking he is always right and that they should always listen to him and only him. He shows that he only cares about himself not what is best for the farm. He intimidates the other animals and consolidates his power. These characteristics lead the animals to believe that Napoleon is always right
