Iran, along with its surrounding countries, is a location of turmoil, death and wealth in relation to the United States. Terrorist groups such as the Hamas give that area a bad name, and their suppression/ Iran’s oil reserves gives presidents from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama a reason to invade. Even with their vast oil supply, nuclear energy/ uranium refinement is now preferred. Facilities which enrich U235 for light water nuclear reactor usage only require less than 20% purity, but certain technologies are now under question of producing 85% or more, weapons grade purity. So far, Iran has managed to make a “minute amount of near 20% within days of starting production” (IAEA report, 2010).

In 2008, Barack Obama was elected the forty-fourth president and the first African-American president of the United States, a benchmark on America?s political timeline. Beginning in 1776, the thirteen colonies split from England to become our own country. This split resulted in a new government and new political parties. We?ve had every party from Whigs, to the Tea Party, to the Marijuana Party and are now left with two major federal parties: Democrats and Republicans. The rivalry between these two parties is at a high in 2010. To most Democrats, Republicans are only useful to block Democratic policies like Healthcare Reform, Gay Rights, and the Economic Recovery.

The Boston Tea Party was a direct action by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and other political protests often refer to it.
