Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!

America is perhaps the most ignorant and racist country in the world, hands down.
Yeah...
It's kinda sad too because then we think everyone loves us wonder why everyone hates us.

APFAq wrote:gay people cant be born gay. The main reason they are gay is because they have grown up around gay people or they are just mental.
Um, I'm gonna have to disagree with that. There are several factors that contribute to becoming homosexual. I heard about studies proving that hormones are a factor. Environment is a factor, but most of the gay people I know grew up in households where they are the only ones. There are also about twenty other factors in the household and environment that contribute that have nothing to do with whether people around them are gay or not.
And they are most certainly not mental...

As I said, the list of homosexuals throughout history can not be positively proven, but there is at least some reliable evidence for each person listed that they at least experienced homosexual relations. However, many were not "out" and would most probably not self-identify him/herself as homosexual.
My source for this particular list was the Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Transgender, and Queer Culture website, which you may or may not agree is reliable. There is however a website that gives its gathered evidence for the sexual-orientation of those figures, which you can find at: http://andrejkoymasky.com/liv/fam/fam00.html

You said that they were proven to be gay, but nothing about that they cannot be postively proven to be so.

I'm all for gay marriage. Mostly because it's their lifestyle. If they want to tie the knot, then tie the knot. I don't understand why such an issue has to be brought up in the government. Is it because it goes against tradition? If it is, I'd think the same thing might go for differences in religion. If America as a nation can tolerate a variety of different races, religions, and lifestyles, why is it so difficult to tolerate the lifestyle of those who are gay? The way I see it, people are people. Color's not an issue. The God you believe in or don't believe in isn't an issue. The one you're in love with shouldn't be an issue, whether they be of the same or opposite sex.
I feel that religious institutions are the ones who really want to enforce a strict only-heterosexual marriage law. The church I go to makes a point of that every time election day comes around. I find it very disturbing that my church becomes a home of politics every time families have to decide who to vote for, but hey, that's what they do. My church is pro-Republican, pro-Bush, pro-Christianity, and pro-big business. When election day is just around the corner, the next mass is bound to be filled with fliers from the Christian Coalition and the sermon will most likely consist of, "Would you want to vote for someone who allows gay marriages? The bible says 'Adam and Eve', not 'Adam and Steve' or 'Anna and Eve'. No. Adam and Eve." It's pretty difficult to forget a line like that.
I'm for gay marriage. Let them do what they want. If it's love they feel, their love should be recognized and accepted - not just tolerated. I don't see what the government has to do with it. Oh, and the church, too. The church might have a say when it comes to marriage, but really, the separation of church and state is something that should be appreciated. I don't mean to insult anyone; this is just my opinion.

sigh..., gay marriage gets tied up with the topic of humanism all the time. A lot of people dont view what gay marriage is in terms of religion. It is a pity the world has to be screwed up like this. Reality is so cruel.

I'm not sure that it's people not viewing it from the point of religion (well, not all people), but it isn't against some religions.
