Women?s History ? Late 1600?s 1692-1693- Salem Witch Trial. Started with Tituba, and Indian slave, being accused of witch craft by Betty and Abigail Williams. Took place in Salem, Massachusetts. Late 1700s Republican Motherhood Concept that mothers were responsible for raising their children to uphold the ideals of?republicanism, making them the ideal citizens for the newly formed country of the United States. Concept believed in during and after the American Revolution. 1800?s 1800-1819 1804-?Sacagawea?begins serving as a guide for the Lewis and Clark expedition. 1820-1829 1820-Cult of Domesticity, ideals were that women?s roles were limited to the household. 1830-1839 1830- Godey?s Lady?s Magazine, Philadelphia?magazine marketed for women.
