167 Plants Review Of all the plants in the plant kingdom, the AP exam puts a special emphasis on the structure and physiology of vascular plants, especially the seed plants. The structural variety and the various physiological mechanisms in these plants are the subject of this section. The seed plants include the gymnosperms (conifers) and the angiosperms (flowering plants). The angiosperms are divided into two groups, the dicotyledons (dicots) and the monocotyledons (monocots). Differences between these two classes are summarized in Table 11-1.
