1. Satrap- was a governor figure who supervised a Persian province. The most important duties included collecting and sending tribute to the King. They were normally connected or related to the royal family. Satraps required knowledge about local conditions and formed connections with the local native elite. 2. Zoroastrianism- was a religion originating in ancient Iran with the prophet Zoroaster. It centered on a sing benevolent deity. Ahuramazda, who engaged in a twelve- thousand year struggle with demonic forces before prevailing and restoring a pristine world. It demanded that humans choose between good and evil basing on truth- telling, purity and reverence for nature. You would be rewarded in your afterlife or punished.
