Considering that a lot of people blog. There is no real reason for a person to even notice mine. I am just the average student (okay maybe with a few higher attributes ex: AP classes, NHS... you get the deal). There is no real reason for you to even continue reading this. I might just be a student in a normal high school, but with this reason, you need someone to tell you how it is. Maybe you are a Freshman just entering your high school career. Maybe you are a Sophmore or Junior mixed in the middle. Might be a Senior like me. Teacher possibly.

There are many, many clubs and organizations in high school. Therefore, it can be very hard to decide which clubs to join. It is very important that you join clubs that you are interested in and will do for your 4 years in high school. When you are picking a club to join, think about your interests and goals. If you are good at sports, try to join the sports team. If your good at math, join the math club. If your good with speaking and debating join the debate team or something similar. Ultimately, you should join the club that best suits your interests and strengths.
Summer is a time of "catch up." It gives you time to do everything you put aside during the school year. It is important to be aware of this extra time and take advantage of it. Many students use this time to get ahead in school and prepare for the upcoming year. For example, many use summer as a time to study for the SATs. Some are signed up for classes or have a tutor, while others prefer to study on their own. Apart from this, many use summertime to read a good book they could not during the year, or go to a sports camp.
If you are anything like me, then you probably try to cram as much activities as you can into your schedule. Whether it be AP classes, volunteer work, leadership programs, sports, a job etc, you try to make the most out of our time during the year. While this will definitely help you prepare yourself for college and the real world, there is a whole lot of stress that comes with it. A fully packed schedule can be daunting to anybody, especially for students. But fear not, there are some things you can do to help you manage your time and stay on top of your schedule.
Studying is the best way to succeed. When you study, find a quiet place away from distractions. Make sure your study area is away from TVs, siblings, and windows. One of the best study methods is using flashcards. They are easy to carry and store and makes memorization easier. Also, for long study sessions bring a snack.
Set a time for studying each day. Stick to this time period everyday. This will make it your habit to study. When you are studying from a textbook, highlight key points and ideas. This will make it easier to find them later if you need to review them.
Most high school students go through this experience, and each one will tell you that it was a long and tedious process. The fact is, the whole process starts the moment you set your first step in high school as a freshman and ends around the end of the 2nd semester of your senior year. The paper application part is just a summary of the culmination of things you have accomplished throughout your high school career. This article will solely focus on application when you write your information on paper to send to colleges.

August is finally here. It is the last month of summer and it has the best weather (for California at least). As much fun August holds, it still marks the end of summer, and the arrival of the school year. For most of you out there, school does not just mean AP classes and sports, it also comes with the dreaded standardized tests. You know which ones I am talking about, the SATs and ACTs. Colleges use your scores on either of these tests to measure you up against other applicants, so they are crucial in the admissions process.
I always get questions from friends and underclassmen as to why AP is so important and why they should be taken. Students seem to come up with better reasons to back out of the course rather than take it. I, on the other hand, can give way better reasons as to why everyone should take a shot at an AP course.
What's the difference between AP classes and regular classes?
Some anxiety seeps in somewhere or the other. It is pretty difficult to sail completely smoothly through high school amidst competitive peers, heavy homework loads, and the occasional skirmish, whether it be with parent or friend.
