School is a place for learning and the expanding of knowledge. Even though this is so many students end up disliking school. They mainly go because their parents force them to. Other than that students go to school to see their friends. If students didnt have other students to interact with while in school then they would really dislike school. You can say that having friends in school takes the boredom out of it. This can be true for so many students but in the end students need to realize which one is more benefical:Friends or Education.

All my life I have continuously been told to turn off the light and to stop the water from running when I’m not using it, but I haven’t realized until recently how important conserving energy really is! Today, in our not so great economy people are losing jobs and are starting to think of ways to save money. Along with saving money, you can also help your environment by doing the following:

Turn off ALL lights that are not being used. Who needs light during the daytime when you have the good old natural sunshine.

ASA is the acronym for the American School of Asuncion. ASA is an international school located in Paraguay’s capitol Asuncion. This school is 55 years old and is full of traditions. ASA is a place that will challenge your views on some issues and that will make your views stay untouched for other topics. All in all, ASA is unique and un-clonable (I found no better word to define what I was trying to say, so I made up a word).

Money--how I wish you grew on trees.

Guys, we're in highschool. We're about to be hit by a tsuanami of expenses--application fees, SAT costs, AP/IB exam fees, college tuition, car payments, cell phone bills. Really, the depressing list goes on and on.

What can we do?
Well, first off, for those of you experiencing serious financial hardships--talk to your counselors. There are forms you can fill out to be eligible for free/reduced lunch, and there are means through which you can get financial assistance when it comes to paying for multiple AP exams and SAT tests.

Here's the paradox for most high school students: during the school year,
we can't wait for vacation, for a chance to breathe and appreciate the
finer things in life (i.e. our TVs, the absence of alarm clocks, reading
books for leisure's sake!)...but when summer finally rolls around, we find
ourselves head over heals in idleness, racking our brains over the question
"how the devil can we go about making our summers consequential?"
I too have thought long and hard over the question, and have come to the
simple conclusion that a bow-chica-wow-wow summer is product of our doing

After I took the PSAT sophomore year I started getting a few letters from colleges, the general tone being, "Hey, you did pretty good on the PSAT. Come look at our college!" I was thinking it was pretty cool. Who doesn't love getting letters addressed to them? As long as they're not bills, that is. Junior year I took the PSAT again, the ACT and the SAT, and I did pretty well on all three. All of a sudden, there is college mail everywhere, from colleges I've never even heard of!

In most high schools, there is a policy toward student-athletes that is commonly called the 50-50 policy. That means that if you're involved in a school sport and another activity such as show choir which has after school events, you spend half of your time playing your sport, and half doing your other activity. This policy seems rather ineffective to me, since you will likely fall behind in both activities, but it is completely useless when it comes to club sports.

Obviously, college is a big deal. It will shape your future career, your friends, and where you’ll live for four to eight years. So it’s important that your college search is a true reflection of not only who you are, but who you want to be. With that in mind, I’ve created a timeline to help you maximize your time, potential, and opportunities during the college search. You’re welcome.

AP classes are often simplified in terms of pros and cons: on the down side, they’re time-consuming and difficult, but on the up side, you can earn college credit if you pass the AP test. However, when deciding whether or not you will accept the challenge of one or more AP classes, there are also less obvious advantages and disadvantages to consider.
