Everyone knows how important SAT and ACT scores are. Everyone studies for them somewhat. Here are two sites I used that was the most helpful, and best of all--they are both FREE.

www.number2.com
This is my favorite test review site of all time. It's free and they provide personalized review help for the SAT and ACT and GRE. You create and account and they have tutorials and practice problems. Instant feedback on your progress. Very user friendly interface. They also have a helpful Vocabulary Builder. I suggest that if you are preparing for any of the tests, sign up now and start working.

If you turn on your computer, television or radio you’ll be bombarded with news of the recent economic collapse and the stories about its casualties. As many families brace against foreclosures, high interest rates and job loss, many struggle to make ends meet, no less finance a child entering college. Only in previous decades has college attendance become a large cultural expectation for young generations, what was once only for the sons of the well-off becoming an open field for people of all backgrounds and inheritances.

A good teacher is rare, and generally when you find one you’ll see that they’re buried behind the gift cookies and flowers students heap on their desks. But for the most part, our day-to-day teachers have desks covered only in assignments, paperclips and grading pens. Obviously teachers have faults, they’re human; as we always awkwardly remember when we see them at the local grocery store, shuffling around in cartoon pajamas. And while we can’t expect perfection from all of them, there are always a few that we find not to be living up to any form of our golden standard.

Schools today have realized that in order to steal the souls of children, they need to destroy their summer vacation. With that thought, they created the most dreaded of all, summer work. While it used to be a book and maybe a paper over the summer, it has now gone berserk. Personally, my teachers assigned me :
 A packet of math problems for a test on the third day of school
 Five chapters of textbook readings, along with 5 one paragraph questions and 1 five paragraph question
 A summer book

If your summer has been anything like my summer has been, it has not been very relaxing. Between summer school, volunteer work, ASB work, and AP summer assignments I have, summer has been nothing like what I imagined it would be back in May. Although I have decided to make the most of my summer academically, it definitely hasn't given me the rest and relaxation I believe everybody needs. So I have devised a plan in which anybody, including yourself, can enjoy that summer sun while still being able to be academically active. This plan can be divided into 3 main points:

No matter where, no matter when, there will always be the student that is known to everybody as “the overachiever.” Everyone knows who they are, what they do, and at times, may even mock them behind their back just for being that way. They’re called “teachers’ pets” or “kiss-ups.” Any name that gets the point across will work. It’s all they care about. They work and work and work. They must be perfect at this, they must get a good grade, they must play this sport, they must, they must, they must. They will stay up all hours of the night, all to make sure they do well.

People are always telling you to follow your dream, follow your heart. At times though, you may just feel like your dreams, your ambitions, your hopes, your aspirations, just aren’t enough. You may even give up on them and toss them aside, regarding them as if they were old, dirty laundry you never want to touch. Well, here’s the deal: don’t. Don’t give up on your dreams. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Don’t stop believing, as Journey says. Your dreams are one of the most important things that you have in life.

One of the key elements of a successful high school career is having a good GPA. When you apply to colleges, they primarily look at the following: GPA, ACT/SAT (or other exams), extracurriculars, and essays. It’s hard to truly determine which is the most important, but generally you’re going to be looking at a crucial focus on GPA and your standardized exam scores. For some, keeping GPA strong and steady is an arduous process, but in the end, it turns out that it was worthwhile. So, how do you improve your chances of getting better grades?

AP History classes tend to be different from other AP classes. Most of the information is in a textbook, and it takes a lot of reading to learn the history. The teacher doesn’t have to do a lot of teaching because most of the information is in the textbook. There aren’t a lot of instances where you won’t get something in history because history is straightforward. Even though history sounds like a easy subject, it is not as easy as you think. Just reading the textbook won’t help you succeed on the AP history exams unless you’re a true genius.
