Civil War The?American Civil War was a war?fought from 1861 to 1865 between the United States (the?"Union"?or the "North") and several Southern?slave states?that had declared their?secession?and formed the?Confederate States of America?(the "Confederacy" or the "South"). The war had its origin in the issue of?slavery, and, after four years of bloody combat (mostly in the South), the Confederacy was defeated and slavery was abolished and for the first time included all black men as full citizens. During the nation moved forward into the modern Industrial Age, and in many ways the American Civil war is an example of the first form of modern warfare The main cause was some of the innovations in technology that Americans were both implementing and improving upon.

Culture Qin Dynasty/Han Dynasty Mauryan Empire/ Gupta Empire Roman Empire P QIN -The beginning of the Qin Empire there was much development. By the end the emperor started oppressing his people. HAN - First part of the Han dynasty was spent consolation the suffering people then later went to focus on military expansion. MAURYAN -Very centralized government, kings being the center of administration GUPTA -kings center of administration, provinces and sub-divided districts E QIN -They had a much structuralized money system and focused on construction and often left lower class citizens very poor. Fast Facts - Gupta Empire 1. Chandragupta-Married into the Lichchhavi family and was given a city-state as a dowry. He then set out to conquer northern india. First to be known as king of kings or Maharajadhiraja. 2. Samudragupta-coenquered over twenty kingdoms by his death. He was very strict with his rule but also loved poetry and art which flourished under him. 3.Chandragupta II-Extended the empire from coast to coast used aliances to get ahead. He also was very tolerant of religions and during his reign a distinctive style of hindu art was created. 4.Used elephants in battle to scare enemy horses. they also used them because just the smell of them could scare enemy horses.
