Copernicus was a Polish Astronomer, he also a mathematician, astronomer, jurist, physician, classical scholar, Catholic cleric, governor, administrator, diplomat, economist. That evidences him have talents in different aspect, he considered and thinking using scientific methods. The Scientific Revolution that followed Copernicus lasted well through the Renaissance, and arguably into the Modern Revolution.
