Jennifer Hill Taking Sides Essay Roger Biles believed that the New Deal was an effective answer to the Great Depression. His main argument is that Roosevelt could bring the United States out of the depression because some pieces of the New Deal were not really new. These pieces include increasing farmer?s income, which originated from Woodrow Wilson?s farm credit act. Centralized economic planning, including the National Industry Recovery Act (NIRA) from Wilson?s War Industries Board and labor reform which was generated through state legislatures. He studied at the College of William and Mary and read law. In 1772 he married Martha Wayles Skelton. He was the ?silent member? of the Continental Congress and wrote the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson had founded the Democratic Republic. He was Washington?s Secretary of State and Adam?s Vice-President. He opposed many Federalist policies like the establishment of the National bank, and the Alien and Sedition Acts, forming the Kentucky Resolution.

Was freed the next year. Lame-duck - A term used to humorously defined as a politician whose political goose has been cooked at the recent elections. John Adams- Second President of the US. Arden Barnes Mr. Batson APUSH 21 October 2013 Chapter 10 Vocabulary John Adams- A Federalist who was Vice President under Washington in 1789, and later became President by three votes in 1796. Known for his quarrel with France, and was involved in the XYZ Affair, Quasi War, and the Convention of 1800. Later though he was also known for his belated push for peace with France in 1800. Regarding his personality he was a "respectful irritation".
